When disaster strikes...
It is always sad when disaster strikes; whether it’s a hurricane, tornado or fire. Each person’s story is unique, but the results are the same. The lost of precious family’s memories. After the urgent things are dealt with, one of the first calls is to us to be reassured that we have an archival file of their previous portraits. Since 1980, this has been our goal of being there for such a time as this.
This portrait, done in 1994, is of a brother and sister. This family currently lives in Charlotte, NC, where their home had burned to the ground. With today’s technology we were able to scan the original negative using a high resolution scanner, do the retouching and color correction before printing the portrait on fine linen canvas and applying a final protective lacquer finish. All of this extensive work is done here on site. This finished portrait has more brilliance and color saturation than the original because of the advancements made in technology as well as acquired artist skills over the decades. This portrait should be good for another 100-200 years.
Please know that if you are a previous client or a prospective new client, we have strived to provide you with a portrait that will be treasured for generations to come since 1967.
